It's not who you are, it's whose you are...
We understand that our merits in this life don't count for much in eternity...but belonging to God does. Everyone is a creation of God, but truly belonging to God means giving the self to God in Jesus Christ. And, that's the first step in truly giving ourselves to each other.
Only for everyone...
When God won victory over death in the resurrection of Jesus, he did it only for everyone. We are interested in God's grace-filled work in Jesus Christ and the hope-filled message of the church that tells this guilt-filled world the joyful truth about life and death! We're not interested in keeping tabs on who might be going to hell and what for. We don't need to. Because God's grace is for everyone who turns away from their own sin and receives God's mercy by surrenduring the self to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
The Bible is the living Word...
The Bible is God's human story. It tells the start, identifies who and whose we are, guides us in our journey, and tells us what's true and what's not—and how to tell the difference. Most important, it tells us what God has done in Jesus Christ to save us from our own human will. It even tells us the glorious, hopeful finish to the human story! Yes, we know it's important how the Word is worded, but that's nothing compared to the importance of using the Word in life. That's why it's called the living Word.
