Kid's Konnection...
...is not a ministry to children, but a ministry of children. We believe that children have their own call and their own part in the Kingdom of God on earth. Grownup church people sometimes think that the long and short of children's ministry is teaching and forming children to become grownup church people. But that's not how Jesus saw it, and that's not how we see it at Grace Community Church. Jesus said to the grownups, "...become like these little children. If you don't, you'll have a hard time getting into heaven!" (Matthew 18:3) Kid's Konnection is children learning about God by discovering him among them and in them, discovering his gifts in their lives, and ministering to each other, to the church, and to their neighbors in his name.
Youth need space...
...not just room to be off by themselves, but safe spaces in their lives to encounter the self and each other...to see how authentic values give their lives meaning...to make choices based on those values...and discover that God in Jesus Christ is a great choice for living. At Grace Community Church our aim for youth ministry is to provide safe 'social space,' trustworthy adult guidance, and meaningful service-oriented activities...all for God to work in their lives.
