What is Grace Community Church?

We're a brand new community of faith getting started with support from the United Methodists in South Carolina.  Our purpose is connection in Jesus Christ.  Jesus described himself as the vine, and those who believed in him he said were the branches.  The place where the branches grow out of the vine...that's the church we want to be!

We want to learn and live and grow in the things that Jesus said were most important...first, to love God from the inside out, and second, to love our neighbors in this world like we love ourselves.  On those two things hang everything else that a church should be and do.  (Matthew 22:37-40.  Look it up!)

We offer uplifting praise, we share our prayers and hopes, we discern together our call to befresh start plant a church...and we join in refreshing fellowship.  And you can count in this...Grace Community Church is relaxed and casual.  Our style of praising God is open and energetic.  We like music, we like stories and images and illustrations.  And we believe the Bible speaks to the lives we're living.

Who is Grace Community Church?

The world isn't a clock...wound up and set to run by itself until the spring gives out.  God is busy in this world accomplishing things that only God can.  And to perform some of his most amazing work, God chooses and calls together people!  That's who Grace Community Church is...people God is calling to do things together that only God can make happen.  That's why we're Grace Community Church, not Grace Community Club or Grace Community Association.

blended familyAnd here's the most amazing part of all.  God does wonderous things in the lives of the people he calls.  God doesn't just use us for the purpose of others...like others, we are God's purpose!  There's a word for that, and that's why we're called Grace Community Church.
